Started in the year 1992, Kubweye Secondary School has had a rich history, having been under several administrations and B.O.M governance. Please find more about our school history below.
The school was started in the year 1992
through community efforts and the sponsorship of Maranatha Faith Assemblies (Kenya).
The School is built on land that was donated by the community and later
expanded through land that was purchased from individuals in the school’s
neighborhood. The community felt that it is important to start the school for
the needy boys and girls who hail from the Kubweye locality.
The community in partnership with World Vision
put up the first three class rooms, two dormitories (one for girls and one for
boys) and one science laboratory. Through sponsors several projects were
started and completed in collaboration with various donors and well-wishers. In
the year 1996 SIDA (Through the sponsor and personal effort of Rev. David Duveskog
gave the school a sponsorship of Ksh 2.5 million shillings.
This funding enabled the school to construct
four more classrooms, staffroom and administration block. The money further
funded the fencing of the compound, erection of the school gate, roofing of the
two dormitories and roofing of the principal’s house.
